It’s a generally accepted norm when producing papers, to write the full form of the test or investigation when first used, then an abbreviation for later appearances of the item.
Not everyone who reads medical articles is from the same Country or specialty as the author, and it really is a courtesy to your readers to fully explain your abbreviations.
